Apply to T.E.A.C.H.
Application Process and Downloadable Application Form
Due to the high quality and popularity of the credentialing program, entry into the program is competitive. The following checklist was created to assist you in preparing your application package. Your application package must be received in the Sacramento Project Pipeline Center by Friday, May 9, 2008 by 5:00pm, Pacific Standard Time. If you have any materials being sent directly from another institution to Project Pipeline (including official transcripts, letters of recommendation, and test scores), these additional items must also be received by the Sacramento Project Pipeline office by Friday, May 9, 2008 by 5:00pm for consideration for the program.

Your completed application package should include the following materials:

A fully completed application form. Please print neatly in black ink or type your application. Please note that if your application is approved by Project Pipeline, your submitted application will be photocopied and distributed to the personnel managers at participating school districts and county offices of education for their review. Thus, a neatly prepared application is strongly encouraged.

Official transcripts from all universities attended, verifying a Bachelors degree earned or to be earned no later than June 2008. We suggest that you order transcripts early to ensure that they arrive before the application deadline.

Verification of passing CBEST scores. Please send a copy of your passing CBEST results along with your application package. CBEST is a state mandated exam that tests an individual's basic educational skills prior to his/her entering California classrooms as a teacher. For test information please visit www.cbest.nesinc.com

Verification of passing subject matter test scores or a subject matter waiver letter from an approved California university. Please submit your passing scores on the CSET or PRAXIS and SSAT tests. If you have already taken your subject matter exam and are awaiting your results, please indicate on the application which test date you took the exam and provide a verification of taking the exam.

Or, send a copy of your subject matter waiver letter from an approved California university program. If you are in the process of completing an approved subject matter program at a California university, please indicate which university you are attending, when you will earn your waiver letter, and in what subject matter you are earning the waiver letter.

Please send your test results and waiver letters to the Sacramento Project Pipeline office when they are available. For test information please visit www.cset.nesinc.com.

Official transcript(s) showing EITHER proof of completing a course in U.S. Constitution (two semester units or three quarter units), OR proof of passing score of an equivalency examination given by a regionally accredited college or university.

A one page resume on white resume paper. The resume should reflect some teaching experience and an objective to teach in California public schools. Your teaching experience can include such education job titles as substitute teacher, teacher's aide, tutor, educational guide, youth group leader, coach, and after school program worker. Also, list your non-teaching work experience and any special skills that you have acquired. Again, if your application package is accepted by Project Pipeline, we will photocopy your submitted resume and distribute your resume to personnel managers at school districts and county offices of education for their review. Thus, a neatly prepared resume is strongly encouraged.

A one page essay on the topic indicated on the application form.

Three letters of professional reference. The letters should be from principals or supervisors for whom you have most recently worked. You may submit your letters with your application package, or have them sent directly to the Sacramento Project Pipeline office.

A nonrefundable application fee of $50.00. Please make check or money order payable to Project Pipeline.

*To ensure accuracy and fairness, a review team assesses each application package received by the application deadline before a final decision is rendered. Admission to Project Pipeline is competitive. Due to the extensive review process, and the volume of applications received, the application fee is nonrefundable, whether or not the decision is favorable.
