NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT
The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 requires that, by 2005-2006, all students will be taught by “highly qualified” teachers in all core academic subject areas. During its June, 2003 meeting, the State Board of Education (SBE) adopted (in concept) a plan to meet this NCLB requirement in California.
Updates on this, and other NCLB issues are available on the California Department of Education’s Web site www.cde.ca.gov/pr/nclb or the SBE Web site at www.cde.ca.gov/board where the SBE “adopted in concept plan” can be found.

Thank you letter from a graduated student

October 22, 2003

2035 Hurley Way, Suite 200
Sacramento, CA 95825

Dear Project Pipeline Staff:

I am writing a letter of thanks. I went through your credential program from 1999-2001. I have fantastic memories of Lynette, Margaret, Rex and others working with my cohort. I really loved the courses that were offered through Project Pipeline. The courses were relevant to our profession. The teachers were highly effective.

Since completing Project Pipeline I have had two children. Completed a special education credential, CLAD and am finishing my Masters in Education-Special Education. I find myself referencing the texts used in Project Pipeline classes for lesson planning and for my Masters schooling. Soon I will be finished with the faculty preparation program. I don’t know whether to go into teaching college learners or go into administration. Project Pipeline has taught me to have a passion for teaching and learning that I hadn’t had before entering the program. I am truly inspired by the staff at Project Pipeline. Thank you for changing my life.

Sincerely,

Mia Fuhrer
Teacher
